Who we are

Clever Whiskers ("we", "us") publishes guides about cat care products at https://thecleverwhiskers.com. You can reach us athello@thecleverwhiskers.com.

What we collect and why

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are read and how the site performs. Cloudflare's analytics does not use client-side state such as cookies or local storage to track individuals across visits, and it does not fingerprint you. It reports aggregate data such as page views, referrers, country, and browser type. Analytics only load after you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner.

Cookie consent

Your choice on the cookie banner is stored in your browser's local storage under the key "sch-consent". It contains only the word "accept" or "decline" and is never sent to us.

Affiliate links

Product links on this site may be affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network (for example Amazon, Chewy through Partnerize, PETKIT through CJ Affiliate, or a brand's own program) may set a cookie in your browser so that a later purchase can be attributed to us. Those cookies are set and controlled by the retailer or network, not by us, and are governed by their privacy policies. We receive aggregate reports of clicks and commissions. We do not receive your name, address, or payment details.

Email newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is stored with our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which processes it on our behalf. We use it to send the checklist you requested and periodic emails about new guides. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends. We do not sell or rent subscriber lists. Kit records opens and link clicks in the usual way for email tools; we use those only to see which topics readers care about.

Contact email

If you email us, we keep the message for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of corrections we made. We do not add contact email addresses to the newsletter.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may keep short-lived logs including IP address, requested URL, and user agent for security and performance purposes, underCloudflare's privacy policy.

What we do not do

• We do not run third-party advertising at this time. If we add an ad network in future, this policy and the cookie banner will be updated first.
• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not collect data from children knowingly. The site is intended for adults. If you believe a child has subscribed to the newsletter, contact us and we will remove the address.

Your choices and rights

• Analytics: choose "Decline" on the banner, or clear your browser's local storage to see the banner again.
• Affiliate cookies: you can block or clear third-party cookies in your browser settings. Links still work.
• Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us to have your address deleted from Kit.
• Access, correction, deletion: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email us and we will respond within the time your law requires.

International transfers

Our providers (Cloudflare, Kit) operate globally and may process data in the United States. They maintain their own safeguards for international transfers, described in their privacy policies.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and update the "last reviewed" date at the top. Material changes to how the newsletter is used will be announced by email.
