The short version

Clever Whiskers is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway. In some cases you get a discount code we negotiated, which is always stated next to the link.

This is how the site pays for products to test, hosting, and the time it takes to write guides that are actually useful. It is disclosed here, and in a short box at the top of every page that contains an affiliate link, in line with the United States Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements.

We are applying to the following affiliate programs. Until a program approves us, its product links on this site are ordinary links and earn us nothing. This list is updated as approvals come in.

How it affects what we write

It does not change which product we recommend. Here is what keeps that true:

  • Commission rates differ between programs. We recommend the product we think fits, then link to every retailer we can, and you pick where to buy.
  • We publish cons for every product, including ones with the highest commission.
  • We do not accept payment for placement or positive coverage. Review units sent by brands are disclosed in the guide.
  • Guides that are not based on hands-on testing say so at the top. See how we test.

Cookies and tracking

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or network sets a cookie in your browser so they can attribute a purchase to us. Cookie lifetimes vary by program, from 24 hours to 90 days. We never see your name, address, or payment details. Our privacy policy explains what data this site itself collects.
